Girl Meets Boy
This love story is one that starts over 2,500 miles apart. Carolina was born in Popayán, Colombia on December 30th 1990 and Joshua was born in Connecticut on February 23rd 1987. Carolina finished school and entered in to broadcasting for Caracol in Bogota and worked for a show traveling throughout the country. Joshua finished school and began his journey as a Fitness Professional in Greenwich, CT.
The odds of them meeting each other were near impossible, and that is where fate stepped in. Carolina decided she wanted to further her career and become fluent enough in English to become a bilingual anchor. Out of sheer fate this landed her in Greenwich, CT where she would then cross paths with Josh. He was just getting ready to travel to Spain. It was a perfect excuse to get her information: Carolina could help him with his Spanish. After some conversations and his trip to Spain he then asked her out on their first date which ended up lasting 4 hrs and after that, neither of them wanted to stop talking. The rest is another story.
This proves that everything does happen for a reason. God puts the people that are supposed to be there, in front of you. You may not understand when you first meet that person, but you will always know in the end!

INFO
GETTING THERE
You should book all flights in to Rafael Nuñez Airport which is in Cartagena. Avianca, COPA, Delta, and Jet Blue are the main carriers. We recommend Jet Blue because they fly direct and are priced well. However, Jet Blue will not be releasing flights until end of May or beginning of June. We will send an update.
The airport is a short 10-minute taxi ride to the Walled City.
WEATHER
The weather in Cartagena will be hot and windy 87°F/30°C. Wear sunscreen!
MONEY
You will need to change foreign currencies into Colombian Pesos (COP). We recommend using an ATM, but check your banks fees first. You can use a Credit Card almost everywhere but it is good to keep Pesos for taxis and other services. We recommend downloading a Currency Converting app on your phone.
TIPPING
10% is customary and the waiter usually asks to include it in the bill.
